Who we are
Boiler Town Ltd ("Boiler Town", "we", "us") is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15840974, at Solar House, 282 Chase Road, London N14 6NZ. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website, over the phone and when we carry out work for you.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at info@boilertown.com or call 020 7101 4284.
The information we collect
- Details you send us through our quote form, callback and booking forms and live chat, such as your name, phone number, email address, postcode and details about your home and boiler.
- Details you give us when you call, message or email us.
- Details we need to carry out work for you, such as your address, the boiler we fit or service and any safety records we complete.
- Payment details when you pay online or join a service plan. Payments are handled by Stripe and we never see or store your full card number.
- Information about how you use this website, such as the pages you visit, collected by the tools listed under Cookies below.
How we use it
- To reply to you, prepare your quote and arrange your home survey.
- To book in and carry out installations, services and repairs, and to look after any guarantee or warranty.
- To run your service plan, including taking monthly payments, sending service reminders and booking your annual service.
- To meet our legal obligations, including gas safety records and tax and accounting records.
- To understand how people use our website and how well our adverts work, so we can improve them.
We use your information because we need it to give you a quote or carry out work you have asked for, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business. Where we need your consent, for example for some cookies, we will ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We only share it with companies that help us run our business, and only what they need:
- Formspree, which receives the forms on this website, and Zapier and ClickSend, which send new enquiries to our team by text message.
- Stripe, which handles online payments and service plan subscriptions.
- Google, which measures how our Google adverts perform, and Microsoft Clarity, which shows us how people use our website.
- Boiler manufacturers, when we register your boiler warranty, and Gas Safe Register, when the law requires us to notify an installation.
- Phoenix Financial Consultants Limited and its panel of lenders, only if you ask us about paying monthly.
Some of these companies store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved for UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries that do not go ahead only for as long as we need them to follow up with you. For customers, we keep job records for as long as your guarantee and warranties run, and for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting records.
Cookies
Cookies are small files saved on your device. This website uses:
- Google Ads cookies, to measure when someone gets in touch after clicking one of our adverts.
- Microsoft Clarity cookies, to understand how people use the website so we can improve it.
- Your browser's session storage, to remember your answers while you fill in our quote form.
Our customer videos are played by Bunny and our coverage map uses OpenStreetMap, which means your browser connects to their servers when those parts of the page load. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit or stop using it, object to how we use it, and ask for it to be passed to you or another company. Email info@boilertown.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
